Research into the box would be great but if you say to a bard "can you find out about this box with all these puzzles round the edge" he'll either laugh because so many puzzle boxes have been made or he'll /have/ to solve the puzzles because not knowing the answers is too much for a bard to take.

Besides, research takes ages now, solving puzzles would be a much faster way to find out what's in the box. And if it's lined with death then we can use poppy as a distraction while we squidge it all back in with a rite.

That gives me a better idea actually, the bards won't be able to resist the puzzles so we let them open the box and if it's full of death then we fix the problem of having a bards' guild too. Plus Edreja can't blame us for opening the box of death!
