Incantors of Edreja,
I am sorry to announce that whilst the Unicorn faction fought hard to save as many of the Mauritanian ancestors as possible, we were not able to save them all. We are awaiting a report on which ancestors have been lost and would request that if anyone has lost their link to their Ancestors to let us know.
There are many that we know to be safe, some of whom were forced to join other pantheons in order to be saved. Those that are absolutely confirmed to be safe include the following:
Lords and Lady of Shadow (all seven)
House Carrikk's Ancestors
Some Alashan ancestors including Im and Ip
All of the Uzzzz Totems
The Thyritthi Totems
The Church of Mokel - Including Sivinter and Vadek who have now ascended
The ancestors of the Sapphire Court including Xanthe Runner.

There may be many more safe although until a report is compiled from across Mauritanja, we cannot confirm who has survived. The destroyer has grown strong from our failure to remain balanced and by keeping Vadek for far longer than he should have been able to walk on this plane, we unbalanced the Church of Mokel and thus all of the Mauritanian ancestors.

We hope that we have rebalanced the equation and distracted the destroyer and his minions for long enough to allow the ancestors to regroup and regather their strength so that they may defeat the destoryer. As ever our faith needs to remain strong and we must strengthen our ancestors as much as we can.

I am sorry to bring such bad news on my first visit to the guild, hopefully I will soon have some brighter news.

We also saved the True Unicorns. I am conducting research into exactly what ocurred regarding the ancestors, specifically I am looking at those we did not save, where they have gone and what has happened to them. I will make a copy available as soon as I have completed my studies.

The pantheon of Mokkel, as inscribed on the tablet the faction used in the rite, was (I believe) Mokkel, comprising Stormcrow, Ironwolf, Vadek (Skia Draco) and Savinta. I cannot swear to this, but I believe those were the names I heard read out. Meepenbump is almost certainly better informed on these matters than I.

Thus far, nothing has happened to those who have "lost" ancestors. I have several theories on what ocurred, but further research is at this stage necessary. I hope to present a brief paper on what occurred at the first Moot, to further understanding and limit the spread of panic. For now, suffice to say, some Mauritanjan ancestors appear to be losing thier link to Erdreja.

I will also try to make a high-level report of the ancestor-related events of that weekend available to the Incantors Guild, as I suspect this might concern them.

I apologise, I only arrived towards the end of the goings on and am only reprting information that I was given. I think I mistankenly wrote the Chirch of Mokel (who visited the unicorns at the GEF) rather than the pantheon of Mokel which is now completed and balanced thanks to both Svinter and Vadek ascending.

From what I could tell from the GEF nobody yet has completely lost their links to any ancestors but some ancestors are weaker than others. One idea that was suggested to me was that rather than having a direct link, some ancestors were channelling power from others. For example someone who follows Storm may still incant in the name of Storm but the power is taken from Storm, channelled through Tempest and down to the incantor. This is merely an idea though and nothing has been confirmed. As soon as we find out more I'm sure the incantors will be the first to hear any news.

I am inclined to agree with your assesment of the way things are likely to work, though research is not yet complete so I would not like to say for certain.

Either way, you are likely to be better informed than me on what ocurred as I spent very little time with the faction that weekend, owing to home affairs.

On the idea of power redirected through other entities......is it possible for us to deliberately cause this effect?

Much like last winter when worship of Lunas was channelling directly to Aleda, who had usurped her and was siphoning power, we could have used the ability to help Lunas by twisting the worship of Aleda whilst Lunas was trapped beneath Fenris' paw.

Also currently Herne, one of the primary ancestors of the Harts and Archers Guild is currently corrupted and if we could ensure that his followers can get power to the good aspects rather than the corrupted aspect of Herne then this would help us in the short term whilst we find a solution to his corruption. Anyoen wishing to help can contact me privately and directly and I will endeavour to put you in contact with the right people.

I'll be around at the Moots and Gathering if anyone wishes to discuss such matters of faith, I may even have some documents left in my library although I have dropped a fair bit into the Bards Guild for them to make available to those who wish to browse the musings and collections of an 'old' gent such as myself...

As for 'mis-directed' power...There was once an altar that sent power to one place/ancestor while at the same time sent a portion of the power to another place/ancestor... I knew where both pieces were before the cataclysm, but I suspect they've both shifted since. The individual who supplied the altar has now left this plane, but I still have the chantries and the knowledge (or at least) part of the knowledge may be contained in them...
