Hello,

There is alot of talk at present about Ancestors and Avatars being tainted, I was wondering if a paticular Ancestor or Avatar was tainted would the followers of that faith automatically know if so how? and how easliy is the taint passed up or down between followers, Avatars and Ancestor.

i believe the lions are having issues.

I'm not entirely sure how we knew he was tainted.

As it is, the ancestor that was tainted, was also an avatar of avalon, which does not appear to have been affected as of yet. We have an artifact which allows us to talk to ancestors without having high incantation and ritual magic. We used this to check avalon, and it's other avatars to see if they had also been affected. However, the taint may spread with time. We will have to see.

I see, but i have been told that a speak to ancestor doesn't work as they can say no and you'd be non the wiser, also this was asked to another ancestor before and they became very angry so i don't think this is also the best course, this ancestor wasn't angry because they were tainted they were angry with the question itself, no taint was there.

As a general rule most ancestors get a bit angry about being bothered by anyone using an speak to ancestor with a pointless question, or one which with a little bit of effort they could answer for themselves.

Crom was always a hoot, if he thought you'd been stupid or could have worked it out yourself he'd decay you as a goodbye at the end of the 'conversation'

I don't know, I wasn't there. Just repeating what I was told. Besides, Avalon is a place as well as an ancestor apparently. I don't really know, the Lions can be a weird bunch. Also it was done by a follower of one of the avatars, and they described it as "having a look"

We know that he became tainted as someone who had a connection to Rhino lost his connection, as soon as this happened we Spoke with the ancestor Malar and not Rhino and asked him about it. The response we got led us to this conclusion.

Is there anyone in the guild whom I can talk to about this at all? Or does anyone know who I can talk to to gather information about the issue?

Do you think it would be possible for me to talk the avatar? I'd just like to know what other things they tried before talking to an ancestor and what led them to speaking with an ancestor, but obviously more in depth but nothing to personal as i would not wish to offend anyone.

Is this someting you could organise?

I would suggest talking to either Ittimin or snowy mactaff as they are some of the most informed people on the subject.

I would agree with you there Alexander but trying to have a chance for snowy or ittimin to actually sit down and talk i find is mere impossible i have had this many times on different subjects also i would like to speak with someone who has actually done this i am unaware if they have but i shall try again the more information that can be gatherd the better im sure you would all agree. But i do thankyou for your informative gesture.

Rhino is the ancestor which was tainted, and is also an avatar or aspect of Avalon (members of the faction have said avatar, and I suspect they know more about their ancestors than I do, being Norscan). Rhino was King of the Lions during his life, and his death was connected with Avaon, in life he was a follower of Malar, which would be why Malar was the ancestor asked about a taint.

I was told that Karnak Justice, a follower of Avalon in it's aspect of The Dream, checked the other aspects of Avalon, and that they seemed fine. None of the followers of Avalon's aspects appear to be having any trouble that I'm aware of.

Unfortunately Shannon, it's a bit confusing. Although if you visit the Lions to ask at the moot, I'm sure they'll be happy to discuss it.
